Healthy You

Healthy You works to bring our communities together in order to tackle isolation, build stronger connections, and create a healthier future for everyone in the Latrobe Valley. The program works in partnership with Latrobe Health Assembly to brings various government, health, and community services to the doorstep of the community.

Healthy You Day

The Healthy You model started in August 2022 at Morwell Neighbourhood House as Healthy You Day. Healthy You Day was set up to create a one-stop-shop for Food Bank clients by bringing a range of local services and supports together at the House.

People could shop at the Food Bank, grab a coffee from the free coffee van, chat with the service providers and get something to eat.

Services on offer on the day included:
⭐️ Gippsland Region Public Health Unit - offering flu vax for over 65 and Covid Vaccination to over 5 years
⭐️ Our Place Morwell
⭐️ Latrobe Community Health Service – Gamblers Help, Diabetes Educator and Dietician
⭐️ Hearing Australia – hearing screens & referrals
⭐️ Team from Harriet Shing MP's office – helping people access the $250 Power Saving Bonus

The Healthy You Roadshow

The Roadshow is an initiative of Morwell Neighbourhood House delivered in partnership with our friends from Latrobe Health Assembly.

The event series is a reimagining of Healthy You Day, aimed at satellite communities within the Latrobe Valley that historically have more limited access to services and are often not visited by community events.

The Healthy You Roadshow brings local health, government, and community services to the doorsteps of our satellite communities – allowing locals to connect with the services while also promoting the work that these services do within our communities.

The roadshow events provide a great opportunity for ‘rural’ communities to come together, connect, and take pride in their immediate townships.

The events are set up to give locals a opportunity to come together and conncect with a range of service providers and other community members, while enjoying activities like live music, interactive physical activities, taste testing, and free merchandise giveaways.
