Morwell Neighbourhood House is established for those people and families who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage, distress or isolation within the Morwell and surrounding communities. We also advance the social and public welfare of the community by providing educational support, skills, training and volunteering opportunities to increase independence. We deliver programs that include addressing food security issues, reducing social isolation and enhancing wellbeing.

The Centre of Resilience (COR) is a community development model piloted at Emerald Community House committing to resilience building ideas and initiatives that stimulate community strength, trust and durability in communities. MorwellNH is proud to be a member of COR Emerald.
The original location of Morwell Neighbourhood House was on Doolan Street, from March 1982 – April 1986. It was during these years that the House applied for and was successful in securing a small amount of funding for the first coordinator of the House. The House also became incorporated in 1984.
